Payment Card Fraud Claims

Product Description

I led the team that built the Payment Card Fraud Claims product on the client-facing risk management platform, CenterPoint. It provides a means for Financial Institution clients to file claims, track annual progress towards deductibles, and use the data to analyze fraud to mitigate further risk.

The product involves a suite of client facing features that was developed to streamline the user's tasks. The entire experience replaced manual workflows and created a sense of security and formality. We replaced the challenge of slicing and dicing free-form typed data in excel sheets with a robust set of metrics and comparative analytic tools. Manual data entry and hours of work each week was automated and simplified through data integrations with source systems by both API and file imports.

This comprehensive solution providing a modern UI/UX, 3rd party system integrations, and robust analytics perfectly complemented the organization's already distinguished suite of protection products. Ultimately, this created a level playing field and improved the competitive posture in the market for this major business line.

Context

Despite the strong market acceptance of our insurance product for its coverage and pricing, the digital client experience lagged behind the competition. This gap presented a critical opportunity for modernization and aligning with evolving market expectations to enhance our competitive position.

I partnered with the head of the business unit, to make the case for the investment in this product. I took this opportunity from idea to market. I built the business case and got approval from the C-suite to invest $7M over 5 years with a total target benefit of $13M. I was able to procure that funding by demonstrating the business opportunity and market potential backed by research, data, and a deep understanding of the business dynamics, operations, and financials. In addition to leading on the strategic side, I also led the operational and tactical execution. I put the team together and led the sprint to sprint deliverables. I crafted the product strategy to support the business goals. I created the go-to market plan and led the launch to all existing clients significantly improving our position in the market.

Leveraging the strong success from the MVP launch, I subsequently created an ancillary business case justifying expanded scope and additional team members including a product manager who could take over the strategy and roadmap. This allowed me to focus on other enterprise initiatives in my role as Product Lead.
